所谓扶乩，是一种玄乎其玄的玩意儿，大致方法是皇帝把要问的问题写在纸上，然后密封起来，由太监转交给道士，再由道士当众烧毁，权当是转交给神仙，这就算是问完问题了。
那么答案去哪里找呢？你总不能指望天上掉块砖头，上面写着几个大字"我不知道"吧。
正确的程序是这样的，先找来一个沙盘，在沙盘上搭个架子，架子上有两根树枝，分别由两个太监用指头搭住，等到道士把皇帝的问题烧掉，不，是转交神仙，两人便即刻作中风状，两眼紧闭，任由指头在沙上乱画，神仙的答案就是这个了。
可能有人会问，要是画的四不像，那该怎么办，告诉你，不要紧，皇帝大人自然会去琢磨，毕竟我们也不能指望神仙大人的书法水平。
二十多年来，皇帝一直通过这种方式和神仙沟通、交流心得、请教问题，于是疑问又出现了，以嘉靖的性格，怎么能够几十年如一日去研究扶乩中出现的莫名其妙的符号呢？
嘉靖并不是一个有耐心的人，所以答案是，他所看到的并不是鬼画符，而是足以识别的汉字。
其实用指头搭在树枝上，也是可以写出规范回答的，但需要一个条件——故意，只要你没有被鬼上身，只要你还有清醒的意识，你的手腕就能让你写出清晰的汉字，当然这绝不是神仙的意图，而是你自己的答复。
也就是说，嘉靖先生费尽心机得到的所谓神仙热线，不过是出自几个道士太监的手笔，但由于他过于期待上天的信息，所以仍然无怨无悔地相信了它几十年。
其实这也怪不得道士和太监，人家也是迫不得已，你写那些无聊的问题，还不许人看，偏偏还要神仙回信，乱画一气你又看不懂，看不懂就要发脾气，到时自然还是下人们遭殃，道士也好，太监也罢，大家出来混，不过是想混饭吃，何苦难为人呢，就这么忽悠着过吧。
而在这个把戏中，最为关键的人却不是皇帝，而是那个烧掉纸的道士。
因为他是转交皇帝问题的人，也是最为重要的一环，所以这个职位一向由皇帝最宠信的道士担任，比如之前的邵元节，后来的陶仲文，以及现在的蓝道行。
蓝道行人如其名，还真是有点道行，据说他算命看相十分之准，名声很大，便被推举进宫为皇帝服务，并担任那个烧纸的工作。

For the first time the problems of voice services self-similarity are discussed systematically and in detail with specific examples and illustrations.
'Self-Similar Processes in Telecommunications' considers the self-similar (fractal and multifractal) models of telecommunication traffic and efficiency based on the assumption that its traffic has fractal or multifractal properties (is self-similar). Wireless Networks: Multiuser Detection in Cross-Layer Design (Information Technology: Transmission, Processing and Storage)
Cross-layer design seeks to enhance the capacity of wireless networks significantly through the joint optimization of multiple layers in the network, primarily the physical (PHY) and medium access control (MAC) layers. Although there are advantages of such design in wireline networks as well, this approach is particularly advantageous for wireless networks due to the properties (such as mobility and interference) that strongly affect performance and design of higher layer protocols. This unique monograph is concerned with the issue of cross-layer design in wireless networks, and more particularly with the impact of node-level multiuser detection on such design. It provides an introduction to this vibrant and active research area insufficiently covered in existing literature, presenting some of the principal methods developed and results obtained to date. Accompanied by numerous illustrations, the text is an excellent reference for engineers, researchers and students working in communication networks.
Wireless networking is undergoing a transformation from what has been primarily a medium for supporting voice traffic between telephones, into what is increasingly becoming a medium for supporting traffic among a variety of digital devices transmitting media of many types (voice, data, images, video. etc.) Wireline networking underwent a similar transformation in the 1990s, which led to an enormous build-up in the capacity of such networks, primarily through the addition of new optical fiber, switches and other infrastructure. Creating a similar build-up in the capacity of wireless networks presents many challenges, including notably the scarcity of two of the principal resources for providing high capacity in wireless networks, namely power and bandwidth. Moreover, the physical nature of wireless communication channels themselves, involving such features as mobility, interference, and fading, adds to the challenge of providing high-quality multimedia communications to large groups of users.

Like many scientists and engineers, much of our work involves writing computer programs. Recently we have been writing those programs in C++. We think that our programs are better and that we can do better science and engineering with these programs because they are written in C++. We think you should try C++, and we wrote this book to help you get started.
C++ is one of several new languages that use a programming style called object-oriented programming. To write large programs that are correct, readable, modifiable, affordable, and efficient requires the same creative effort and persistence characteristic of other endeavors in science and engineering. Traditional programming languages, including FORTRAN and C, force us to communicate with the computer in a demeaningly simplistic manner. C++ and an object-oriented programming style elevate the communication to a more abstract level: They provide means for investing intellectual effort to produce better-quality programs and thus better-quality science and engineering, from a given programming project.
Learning C++ will be exciting. Although most of the programming ideas used in languages like FORTRAN, PASCAL, and C are still used in object-oriented programs, the new concepts reorganize the work. Like all new fields, object-oriented programming will seem foreign and exotic. C++ embodies a decade of new ideas from computer science backed up by practical experience. These new ideas will stimulate your thinking about programming and its role in your work. We hope you will find, as we have, that this new view changes programming from a tedious, albeit engaging, process to an intellectual enterprise more comparable to the processes we employ in other scientific and engineering work. The purpose of this book is to teach you how to use C++ and the object-oriented programming style to produce better-quality programs, with an emphasis on scientific and engineering programs. Most such programs today are written in FORTRAN or C and without the benefit of any particular programming methodology. For small programs of strictly numerical content, FORTRAN or C may be adequate. However, larger programs and programs containing nonnumerical code are too expensive to understand, to revise, and to improve if written in FORTRAN or C. We present object-oriented programming as a design and programming style that addresses these problems and C++ as a programming language designed to allow efficient use of the object-oriented style. If you are still using FORTRAN or C in your programming, we invite you to explore a new world, the world of object-oriented programming in C++. Audience
Our book teaches object-oriented programming in C++, using examples from science and engineering. It is not a book about scientific computing or numerical analysis nor an introduction to programming. The book moves rapidly through the basic features and syntax of C++, material readily assimilated by an engineer or scientist experienced in programming or, indeed, by any experienced programmer. Our aim is to move quickly beyond syntax and rules to the more interesting and important concepts and techniques of object-oriented programming in C++. The latter part of the book applies the concepts and techniques developed to substantive examples. This book provides a systematic approach to the problems involved in the application of error-correcting codes in data networks.
Over the last two decades the importance of coding theory has become apparent. Thirty years ago developers of communication systems considered error-correcting coding to be somewhat exotic. It was considered as an area of interest only for mathematical engineers or mathematicians involved in the problems of engineering. Today however, theory is an important part of any textbook on communications, and the results of coding theory have become standards in data communication. The increasing demand for communications quality and the progress in information technologies has led to the implementation of error-correcting procedures in practice and an expansion in the area of error-correcting codes applications.
Error correcting coding is often analyzed in terms of its application to the separate levels within the data network in isolation from each other. In this fresh approach, the authors consider the data network as a superchannel (a multi-layered entity) which allows error correcting coding to be evaluated as it is applied to a number of network layers as a whole. By exposing the problems of applying error correcting coding in data networks, and by discussing coding theory and its applications, this original technique shows how to correct errors in the network through joint coding at different network layers.
